Adopting sustainable, environmentally friendly processes sets NTC apart.

(Palm Harbor, FL) May 8, 2017 – Nationwide Title Clearing (NTC), the leading post-closing services provider for the nation’s largest financial institutions, investors and servicers, celebrated an Earth Day milestone last month during which it shared the importance of the company’s sustainability practices. The company processes millions of documents for its clients each year, but does so primarily electronically. On average, NTC saves 21 trees a month with its eRecording services.

“Companies like ours can have a significant impact on the environment and it’s part of our corporate responsibility to make certain that it’s not a negative impact,” said NTC CEO John Hillman. “Paper has been part of the home finance process since the beginning, but processing millions of documents for our clients each year, we don’t want to have that kind of an impact on the world around us. Going paperless is just one of the ways we’re focusing on sustainability and the environment.”

NTC works with suppliers and customers to reduce environmental impacts by providing paperless documents whenever possible. The company has successfully implemented paperless document recording in over 70% of all Public Record recording jurisdictions across the United States. When the company processes documents for recording, fewer than 1% are returned for compliance problems, further streamlining an already environmentally friendly process.

In addition, NTC has developed strategic partnerships with to increase the use of digital data sharing. When the firm must print, it does so primarily on recycled paper. It then shreds and recycles all waste paper documents as well as all plastic bottles and cans used in the company’s three production centers. To further reduce its environmental impact, NTC installed bottled water filtration stations companywide to reduce plastic bottle disposal.

“We’re not satisfied with just being the best choice of partner for our clients,” Hillman said. “Our goal is to be the choice of corporate neighbor for all of the communities in which we operate. Taking environmental sustainability seriously is one of the ways we’re doing that.”
